The fancy dress will be...... The letter T for the Saturday night. Get thinking
So here we are again my doesn’t time fly when you’re having fun and getting wet. The Teifi Tour is back well it will be in October and as ever there is a mighty fine amount of fun to be had. This is the event to get freshers into paddling well to get anyone into world of kayaking and merriment. The Teifi is the longest river solely in Wales being over 120 miles long. Sections being used vary from grade one through to three, there are two rapids above this where safety will be set up. This is a great opportunity for everyone in your club to paddle and be safe. The camping is situated in Llandysul at the Llandysul Paddlers canoe club. With the camping River Legacy is hosting the party which puts all fresher’s weeks to shame. Llandysul has a slalom course and a lake for polo use, these features create an event like no other. Not only is there a large amount of water to be covered both days but you can stay at camp and hone some of your kayaking skills for the season to come.
Ok so a wi bit on last year. Last year had a record turnout of over 350 people on the water and just under 300 in the party. Which is up a wi bit from the previous years, but it was nowhere near as good as this year will be.
There are a couple of charges and this to sort tho, there is a cost for the river, now I hear you say we don’t paddle to use the water its free and we do it when we want (or at least that’s what I say). But this is an event and a tour and the ways of making a tour and an event work do cost a wi bit of money, this money is used to fund shuttles taking you to different sections of the river even open canoe are welcome. They will then bring you back and as if that wasn’t enough we will even have safety on the river to keep you safer. So yes you can do this trip but with trained safety and arranged lifts it’s well worth it.
Again there is a cost for the party a cost to which we are working out, this cost pays for the toilets on the campsites, the marquee making its way there and going up, the bar + all the money made on the bar helps to fund projects in all areas of paddles port across the UK. This is run by River Legacy a crew of people bunched together who use their free time to help in events like this they do all for free and just hope for a great turn out.
This year will also be showing the world premier of the British Kayaking Expeditions 2011 trip so get there to be a part of it.
